About

David & Kelly Olson

David became a Christian in the summer of 1974. He has a Bachelor’s degree in religious studies from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary.

He has done short-term missions and hospital chaplaincy. He has helped plant two churches in California. He pastored the second of those churches for over twenty years.

At the end of August of 2007 his family moved to Missoula, Montana in obedience to God’s call. In this adventure of faith they have visited about fifty gospel preaching churches in the city. He has done pulpit supply for four area churches. He has taught Bible studies and led prayer groups.

The goal of our ministry is furthering the kingdom of God through strengthening unity among the gospel churches in our city and through church planting.

He and his wife are active in supporting foster and adoptive families. Kelly homeschools their eight kids.

s5 Lifegate

An old name for Missoula, Montana is Hellgate. The name Hellgate came from French trappers who found artifacts such as bones and weapons in the Hellgate canyon which was reported to be the site of battles between native peoples. This name is still used by many businesses and schools in the Missoula area.

Jesus taught that his church would face battle with the gates of hell. This is true of all Jesus’ disciples in the world wherever we are, we are doing ministry at the gates of hell.

(Here is a picture of the Hellgate chapel in Missoula, Montana, the oldest remaining building in the area.)

In the Sermon on the Mount, the Lord Jesus taught of two gates, one which leads to death, the other to life. Lifegate is named for this gate of life which all true disciples of Jesus have entered to walk with the Master.

Support

I very much appreciate your support of my ministry and s5 Lifegate church. This ministry is supported through tithes and offerings from individuals like you.

There are two blessings when someone gives to the Lord through faithful churches and ministries like s5 Lifegate. The ministry is blessed through receiving the Lord’s supply through donors like you. And you are blessed by the Lord when you give, as the apostle Paul says: “Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit…. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:17,19. ESV)

    • Chris, thanks for the question. Some have mailed a check to the PO Box above. Some have even set up their bill pay from their bank to send a regular check. If you are ever out in Missoula, you can just hand it to me 😉 .

    Dear Pastor Dave,

Would love to contribute more, but…

    • Trina, Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. Your prayers are a rich and powerful contribution to us and the ministry God has here.

    Hi Dave,
Please add me to your email list. I’ve been doing readings on my own at night and would like to follow your teachings. It was great seeing you yesterday and thank you so much for showing us the kids and Kelly. We really miss all of you.

    Many thanks,

    Nikki

    • Thanks Nikki. You can subscribe to the website to get the latest posts.

I am glad you are doing your own reading each night. There is nothing better than opening Bible, inserting face and having the Lord begin to teach you. This is the key to be ready for whatever happens in this turbulent time.

Kelly so enjoyed seeing you and the kids via FaceTime when I was out. We also miss you all and look forward to your vist out here some time.

  3. Nice to see dialogue of any kind! I especially appreciate Nikki ‘s comments and seeing John at church on Sunday! Since there are 10 of you i will prayer by acronym, DKKDJTHTLG. May our Father bless you and keep you all your days!

    • It was great seeing John and the others at church. A little sacramental taste of what it will be when we are all gathered in eternity.

The 10 letter acronym isn’t very catchy. Perhaps the Lord will bring others that we can create a new nickname.

    Morning david,

Are you following the epicenter Conferance 2011 from last week? If you are I would love to here your take on it or about the Book of Joel. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and there seems to be a lot of talk about the seven seals and the first five possibly having been open already. Thanks a bunch, Nikki

    Hi there,
I enjoyed doing my 7 things to review. It’s something that was long over due for me and I do tend to rush through my day without thinking of what’s important so much as just trying to get it all done.

I would like to pick your brain please on the subject of dreams. About a week ago I had the same dream three nights in a row and in my dream I was walking down a dirt road with Jesus. We didn’t talk that I recall but just walked together. I talked to Kae about it and she said she has never had dreams like that before.
